Welcoming speech by the Minister of State Authority for Military Industry to guests and participants of the 9th International Military Exhibition MILEX 2019

Dear colleagues!

Dear friends! 

On behalf of State Authority for Military Industry of the Republic of Belarus and on my own behalf, I invite you to participate in MILEX 2019, one of the largest exhibitions in the Eastern European region.

The international military exhibition, organised by State Authority for Military Industry of the Republic of Belarus, will be held from 15 to 18 May 2019 in Minsk for the ninth time.

MILEX highlights the tendencies and prospects of the global arms market and demonstrates the intellectual power and enormous potential of the defence sector of the Republic of Belarus.

MILEX is not only an opportunity to present previous years’ results but also a means to demonstrate the intention to move forward, to have a vision of the future.

Chiefs of military and defence-industry ministries and agencies of foreign states, representatives of the expert and business community can get acquainted with the progressive scientific and technical achievements of the best design bureaus of the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, the CSTO member states and other countries, embodied in promising models of smart weapons and new weapon systems that fit in with modern concepts of warfare. 

One of the most important and traditional part of the exhibition will be its business programme. Minsk will host a meeting of the Business Council under the CSTO Interstate Commission on Military and Economic Cooperation and a meeting of the Coordinating Council on Advertising and Exhibition Activities of the CSTO member states, as well as a visiting session of the Belarusian and Russian national parts of the CSTO Interstate Commission on Military and Economic Cooperation with the participation of representatives of Belarusian and Russian defence companies. 

Minsk will also host the International Scientific Conference on Military-Technical, Defence and Security Issues and Dual-Use Technologies. About 600 participants, including representatives of scientific institutions, research and production centres, design bureaus, as well as head officers, scientists and specialists from Belarus and Russia are expected to attend the event.

High organisation level, success and interest of foreign partner countries have always been a distinguishing feature of the MILEX exhibition.

It is an important marketing tool that contributes to the establishment and development of business relations and stimulates production and creation of a favourable investment climate.

The contracts concluded at MILEX and joint promising projects vividly confirm the interest of foreign partners in cooperation with the Republic of Belarus.
