Working Visit of SAMI Minister to Orsha District
On April 16, 2025, Dmitry Pantus, Minister of the State Authority for Military Industry (SAMI) of Belarus, conducted a working visit to the Orsha District. Notably, in January of this year, the head of the Belarusian arms agency had already visited the local enterprises, setting specific tasks for their management to modernize and reprofile production to create in-demand and import-substituting products, while also determining deadlines for their implementation. The timely completion of these activities is under the special oversight of the SAMI Minister.
The first stop on the minister's visit was the Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant JSC. During the meeting, attendees reviewed the implementation of the head of state’s instructions and discussed various issues related to current and prospective production projects, as well as the socio-economic development plans for the enterprise. The SAMI Minister was informed about the active phase of the import substitution project in the aircraft industry.
The head of the Belarusian arms agency also discussed key stages of the ongoing modernization at Tekhnika Svyazi JSC, exploring ways to accelerate re-equipment processes without compromising current production levels. The modernization of several facilities aims to optimize the production of weapon systems, military and special equipment, as well as civilian products, thereby ensuring the fulfillment of the state defense order and fostering the development of high-tech industries.
Key topics during Dmitry Pantus’ visit to Legmash Plant JSC included production modernization, social policy, and future development prospects. The SAMI Minister viewed the construction of a new metalworking shop and an administrative and welfare building, as well as the preparatory work for a warehouse to store finished products and renovations of welding and transport sections.
