The Evolution of Artillery Fire Control

The Belarusian Army has adopted an updated portable automated fire control system of the artillery Lektor.

Compared to the basic modification, the modernised Lektor has become truly universal and has taken artillery combat to a qualitatively new level. The system provides a closed automation cycle from reconnaissance to fire destruction. It allows you to effectively manage the preparation and conduct of combat operations of artillery units in any climatic conditions, at any time of the day, on any terrain.

Lektor is capable of automatically collecting, displaying, storing, and communicating reconnaissance data; fire; attached and supported weapons; determining the coordinates of targets using information reaching each gun (fire weapon); solving problems of topographic, geodetic, meteorological, and ballistic preparation; and calculating installations and adjustments at each workplace. It is also indispensable when planning a march, advancing, deploying, and moving forces, and exercising operational control of movement along the route. Its function is to transmit commands and signals via satellite, HF, VHF, and wired channels, as well as via DMR, Wi-Fi, and 4G networks. The system is fully integrated with higher-level automated control systems and combined arms units.
