NIIEVM JSC has successfully completed the modernisation and handover of another PRV-16-BM.04 mobile altimeter to the air defence

About 90 % of the modernised products and systems are manufactured at NIIEVM JSC using a modern element base. The ergonomics have been significantly improved; the operator’s workplace, which makes it more convenient, is based on a specialised computer with a dual-view interface. Information exchange with the RIF automated system and receiving information from the ADS-B system are provided. Besides, remote control of the PRV operation modes and control of its operability from a remote workplace are realised. 

The low-noise high-frequency transistor amplifier was also modernised, which made it possible to increase the sensitivity of the receive path, jamming and reliability of the PRV operation. The scope and quality of the modernisation works using modern element base ensured the extension of the radio altimeter’s service life by eight years, and the implemented technologies ensured a significant improvement of the station’s characteristics, including its operational reliability. The tactical and technical characteristics of PRV-16-BM.04 allow effective detection and tracking of both modern and promising small-sized aircraft.
