Meeting of the Interstate Council on Radio Navigation of CIS Member States

From November 27 to 28, 2024, a meeting took place in Moscow under the leadership of Vladimir Tsalko, the Head of the Radio Navigation Interstate Council and a representative of the State Authority for Military Industry (SAMI). This meeting was attended by representatives of national state customers involved in the Interstate Radio Navigation Programme of the CIS Member States for the years 2023–2026, along with the 62nd session of the Radio Navigation Interstate Council.

Attendees included representatives from the CIS Executive Committee, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and other interested agencies from the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the results of implementing the Main Directions for the Development of Radio Navigation in CIS Member States for 2019–2024, as well as the progress of the Interstate Radio Navigation Programme for 2023–2026. Discussions included the collaborative efforts between the Radio Navigation Interstate Council and the CIS Executive Committee to develop a draft action plan for implementing the CIS Economic Development Strategy until 2030, along with plans for the next Interstate Radio Navigation Programme up to 2030.

The results of interaction between the Radio Navigation Interstate Council and the Interstate Council on Space, cooperation in the field of navigation of AGAT – Control Systems JSC – Managing Company of Geoinformation Control Systems Holding and Peleng JSC with interested agencies of the Russian Federation (State Corporation “Roscosmos”, Federal State Budget Institution “All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Radioelectronics”), the Republic of Kazakhstan (JSC National Centre for Space Research and Technology) and the Republic of Tajikistan (SUE “Tajikairnavigation”) were discussed.

A decision was made for Vladimir Tsalko to present information on the implementation of the main directions for radio navigation development in Commonwealth countries at a meeting of the Commission on Economic Issues under the CIS Economic Council scheduled for December 2024.

The Council decided to extend the chairmanship of the Republic of Belarus, represented by SAMI, in the Radio Navigation Interstate Council for another year in 2025. The next meeting of the Council is planned for July 2025 in the Kyrgyz Republic
