Chekan – With a Belarusian Engine
An electric motor with a 4.44 kW power, developed by specialists from ALEVKURP JSC, successfully passed flight tests as part of the domestic strike unmanned aircraft system Chekan V.
Ground-based stages of full-scale testing preceded the in-flight examination. Engineers from 558 Aircraft Repair Plant JSC checked the electric motor's technical characteristics at the stand. They assessed the feasibility of using it as a standard electric motor in the Chekan V UAS.
The domestic power plant has also been tested in various flight modes. During the tests, the electric motor from ALEVKURP JSC demonstrated correct operation throughout the entire flight time of the UAV and across all modes, thereby confirming its suitability as a replacement for an imported electric motor.
It should be especially emphasised that the creation and implementation of our own reliable electric motor will not only reduce dependence on foreign components but will also open up new prospects for the further modernisation of unmanned aircraft systems.
