Yevgeny Babarykin Wins the Person of Business 2019 Award
On 4 July, the Palace of the Republic in Minsk hosted a Person of Business 2019 award ceremony.
A total of 150 recommendations were received for the contest, of which the public council selected 12 best businesspeople, among which are reputable Belarusian entrepreneurs, economists and public figures. According to Viktor Zhuk, head of the organising committee and head of the Delo publishing group, when considering nominees, the public council was guided by very strict selection criteria. Personal qualities, creativity of thinking, commitment to results, entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and professionalism were taken into account.
Yevgeny Babarykin, director of VOLATAVTO JSC, was declared the winner in the nomination “For establishing a company that sets an example of transition to innovation-based development”. He was awarded a certificate of the Delo publishing group and a memorable prize – a sculpture by Belarusian sculptor Sergei Gumilevsky.
Yevgeny Babarykin has been at VOLATAVTO since 2000. He worked as deputy director for science, and since 2009 he has been serving as director of VOLATAVTO.
“I have a lot of ideas, I live for them, and the company provides an opportunity to put them into practice,” Yevgeny Babarykin says.
Every year, VOLATAVTO develops from three to five new systems that are introduced into service in Belarus, Russia and other countries. Over the past seven years, the company has delivered 110 mobile platforms, of which over 60 platforms for nearly ten Russian partners in the framework of military-technical cooperation. The company’s products are protected by nine patents of the Republic of Belarus and eight patents of the Eurasian Patent Organisation for inventions, utility models and industrial designs. Four solutions have been awarded science and technology awards and certificates of the State Authority for Military Industry of the Republic of Belarus.
VOLATAVTO JSC is an engineering company; it has a design office and the status of a scientific organisation, conducts research and development in the field of mobile rapidly deployable platforms, which are equipped with lifting mast devices and designed to carry weapons and military equipment, as well as multiple launch rocket systems.
Currently, the company employs about 250 people and continues to expand.
