Upgraded MZKT-742960 with MZKT-820400 Semi-Trailer Passes Field Trials

The Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant, which manufactures its products under the brand Volat, displayed the upgraded MZKT-742960 truck tractor in the 8 x 8 configuration, which has been successfully field tested with the MZKT-820400 semi-trailer and is designed to carry large and heavy cargo as part of a 130 tonne road train.
The improved off-road vehicle features an upgraded frame-panel cabin produced by the plant. The two-row cabin has two beds, heating and air conditioning. A total of seven people can be comfortably and safely accommodated in the cabin. An important advantage is the possibility of equipping the cabin with protective armour plates.
The MZKT-742960 truck tractor is equipped with the 544-horsepower turbodiesel Deutz BF 8M1015C (V8), which is notable for 2,300 Nm torque and maximum engine power of 400 kW (544 hp).
The ALLISON 4500 fully automatic transmission provides easy steering when transporting super heavy cargoes, and the inter-wheel and inter-axle differential lock system ensures reliable off-road operation.
