The R-60-NT Guided Missile Has a New Autopilot
A test launch of the modernised R-60-NT short-range guided missile took place at the Obuz-Lesnovsky test site. During the firing, the operability of a new control system (autopilot), developed by the specialists of BSVT - New Technologies LLC was checked.
It should be noted that the enterprise has not only all the necessary documentation, test and verification equipment for a wide range of work on the repair of guided missile, but is also capable of fully modernising these products on its own. In particular, it is planned to further improve the tactical and technical characteristics of the R-60-NT guided missile by equipping it with two types of homing heads - laser and thermal imaging. As a result, while preserving as much as possible its structural, technological and aeroballistic characteristics, the missile gains additional capabilities for the effective destruction of small aircraft, as well as low-contrast in the thermal range ground lightly armoured targets.
The upgraded R-60-NT guided missile can be installed both on standard launchers and placed in transport and launch containers for use on surface-to-air missile systems. In this case, the missile can operate in the air-to-air, air-to-surface, surface-to-air, surface-to-surface modes.
