Solutech Pro Becomes First Owner of Certified Unmanned Aircraft System Imported to Belarus

In Belarus, a closed cycle of certification of experimental aircraft and other aviation items has been created, and a modern technical regulatory framework has been established that allows safe operation and implementation of various types of activities by experimental aircraft in our country’s airspace.

On 10 November, based on positive results of certification tests, First Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian State Military Industrial Committee (Goscomvoyenprom) Igor Demidenko presented to the management of Solutech Pro LLC an airworthiness certificate for the GeoScan 201 unmanned aircraft system (UAS) of two GeoScan 201 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), which was imported to Belarus.

Based on Article 20 of the Air Code of the Republic of Belarus, the Regulations on the State Military Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus, approved by the President’s Decree No. 602 of 8 December 2009 “On Some Issues Concerning Activities of the State Military Industrial Committee”, and in accordance with the Aviation Regulations for the certification of experimental aircraft, aircraft engines, propellers, airborne and ground aviation equipment, aviation simulators of experimental aviation of the Republic of Belarus, Goscomvoyenprom carried out certification of the GeoScan 201 UAS on the basis of two GeoScan 201 UAVs at the request of Solutech Pro.

Certification tests were conducted from 25 to 27 October 2017 by the certification test group of the aviation technical centre for maintenance and use of unmanned aircraft systems of the flight test station at the 558 Aircraft Repair Plant in order to confirm the compliance of the GeoScan 201, its characteristics and operational documentation with the certification basis, as well as evaluate the reliable operation of the UAS and functional systems of UAVs (engine, propeller and other components).

The results of the certification tests showed that the GeoScan 201 and its components meet the requirements of the certification basis, and the structural strength allows the GeoScan 201 to be safely used in accordance with the requirements of the operating manual.

Based on the positive results of the certification tests, Goscomvoyenprom issued a certificate for the GeoScan 201 to Solutech Pro. Solutech Pro has become the first owner of a certified UAS imported to Belarus.
