SAMI and the Institute of Physics of the Belarusian National Academy of Sciences Confirm Their Interest in Defence Research and Development

On 6 September 2019, Minister of State Authority for Military Industry Roman Golovchenko visited the Stepanov Institute of Physics of the Belarusian National Academy of Sciences.
Roman Golovchenko and a number of directors of SAMI companies familiarised themselves with the institute’s research and laboratory facilities, as well as with its achievements and capabilities in some areas.
Roman Golovchenko and Maxim Bogdanovich, director of the institute, discussed the participation of scientists in scientific research and development of new systems and devices of optics, laser physics, opto-, micro- and radioelectronics in order to develop a high-tech defence sector of the economy. The parties confirmed their interest in further cooperation and identified common ground on a number of promising projects.
SAMI and the Institute of Physics already have successful experience in research and development in the framework of the implementation of the State Special Production Programme for 2011-2016, as well as the Photonics, Optoelectronics and Microelectronics state research programme for 2016-2020.
