Russian and Belarusian Companies Join Efforts in Information Security Projects
Russian company Informzaschita, a leading systems integrator in the field of information security (listed in the top 5 Russian information security companies and in the top 25 Russian IT companies), and Belarusian AGAT-Control Systems, a leading company specialising in the development, introduction and support of industrial control systems (ICS), signed a partnership agreement in the middle of August 2016.
The agreement is aimed at strengthening the competence in carrying out projects in the field of ICS security, manufacturing processes, as well as combining the companies’ capabilities in implementing priority programmes and projects to ensure information security in complex industrial systems of various purposes.
Exchange of experience in the field of expertise, joint research and development programmes and projects will allow Informzaschita and AGAT-Control Systems to provide the Union State’s market with the best range of unique services and solutions for protection against cyber attacks and fraud in industrial control systems. The companies offer a wide coverage of industries: power engineering, rail transport, urban infrastructure (heat and water supply, traffic management and so on) and critical infrastructure facilities.
The large number of targeted cyber attacks and heavy damage caused by a third-party intervention in the processes force companies, including those in defence sector, to take a serious approach to information security issues and look for ways to protect themselves.
Each project for the introduction of security equipment in industrial systems is unique. To implement such projects, it is not enough to have competence in the field of information security. It requires a deep expertise in industrial automation and knowledge of the specifics of industries with all the nuances. It is also necessary to understand how issues of functional and information security in a separate branch of a particular country are regulated.
Cooperation under the agreement will allow the companies to participate in joint projects in the Union State and will help to increase the volume of projects related to the export of indigenous information security solutions and technologies.
