Research Tests of a Modernised Combat Vehicle of the Osa SAM System Begin

As a result of a number of initiative R&D activities to modernise the Osa SAM system, the specialists of 2566 Radioelectronic Armament Repair Plant JSC have created a new promising weapon model 9A33-2B. The product is remarkable for improved detection and destruction of air targets characteristics, high level of jamming immunity, presence of training and simulation equipment and a number of other capabilities. One of the advantages of the combat vehicle has become the modified layout of equipment and weapons, adapted to the chassis produced by the Minsk Automobile Plant.

To confirm the declared characteristics and the possibility of adopting a new product in service with the Belarusian Army research tests of the first model of the combat vehicle have begun in one of the military units of the Air Force and Air Defence in November 2020. They will last until April 2021. During the tests, the personnel of the combat crews will assess the effectiveness of the new product and its operational characteristics in real conditions, including training grounds.
