Quality Is the Key to Success
The award ceremony of the 2014 Belarusian Government Award for Quality Achievements was held in the National Library of Belarus in Minsk on 16 April 2015.
A total of 197 best Belarusian companies of various industries and service sectors have become Government Award winners over 16 years. In 2014, 14 companies received awards for the first time, 16 companies confirmed their titles of winners. Among them is the LEMT scientific and technical centre of the BelOMO association, one of the Belarusian leading optical companies. The company was awarded the Belarusian Government Award for Quality Achievements twice – in 2006 and 2009, and was included in the National Board of Honour under the presidential decree.
Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov presented an award to LEMT Director Alexei Shkadarevich for achievements in quality and competitiveness of the products manufactured, services rendered, works performed, as well as introduction of innovative technologies and modern management methods.
According to the head of the Government, the award winners are companies for which quality is of the highest value. They successfully improve the competitiveness of products (services), focus on quality of products and services, have sufficient guarantees of selling their goods, apply effective forms and methods of management, as well as able to predict the potential needs of customers and ensure high rates of the economic development. The staff of LEMT BelOMO is the best proof for that.
“To be a Government Award winner is not only an honour but a commitment to the country to be a leading company, to manufacture high quality products and ensure customer satisfaction with goods and services of decent quality,” said Andrei Kobyakov.
It is not only important to have a leader in each industry sector, but also to provide a consistent increase in the efficiency and quality of manufacturing and services companies. Therefore, the best practices of the winners should be studied and applied by others, according to the Prime Minister.
For almost a quarter of a century LEMT BelOMO has been specialising in research, development and manufacture of knowledge-intensive high-tech laser optical, opto-mechanical and opto-electronic devices, units, components and laser systems for industry, medicine, construction and defence. More than 30 products developed by LEMT are manufactured by BelOMO. The company’s products are in demand far beyond the borders of our country.
LEMT BelOMO was one of the first in the Commonwealth of Independent States to manufacture the laser target designators. Currently, laser sights made by LEMT are used in more than 20 countries around the world.
