Prototype Transporter-Loader Vehicle 9Т217-1B Completes Preliminary Testing
At the end of June, 2566 Radioelectronic Armament Repair Plant JSC carried out preliminary testing of a prototype transporter-loader vehicle 9T217-1B from the modernised Osa SAM system.
The prototype vehicle was made in the course of the Muravei research and development project carried out by the company on its own initiative.
The 9T217-1B is equipped with a crane-manipulator. However, the main feature is that, in addition to the standard transportation, up to 24 missiles in canisters can be transported in sets. Today this is done by special units on special transporter vehicles. The upgraded transporter-loader is universal and can be used both by missile firing and technical support units.
The tests confirmed the compliance of the prototype transporter-loader vehicle with the requirements specification and the design documentation developed during the R&D project. The vehicle may be submitted for acceptance testing.
It should be noted that the development of the 9T217-1B transporter-loader vehicle is the next stage in the improvement of the 9K33 Osa SAM system.
