Precise Electromechanics Factory Republican Production Unitary Enterprise Fulfilled the State Task in Developing Small Aircraft Armament
Belarus develops aircraft armament for domestic strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which significantly differ in their weight and size characteristics from the standard weapon used in the Air Force.
The team of Precise Electromechanics Factory Republican Production Unitary Enterprise (RPUE) has successfully coped with the task of adapting PTAB-2.5-1 small anti-tank air bombs for the UBAK-70 unmanned aircraft strike system, the development of which is being completed at 558 Aircraft Repair Plant JSC (558 ARP).
Unique technologies make it possible to use PTAB-2.5-1 after they have been removed from the RBK-500-225 PTAB-2.5 cluster bombs.

The ammunition body has equipment to fix an UAV on the bomb rack. The design provides a safety and arming device. A range of high combat use is 150–3000 metres. PTAB-2.5-1 can be used to kill personnel and destroy enemy unarmoured and armoured weapon.
In addition to small aircraft weapon for UAVs, RPUE developed and produced the experimental (combat) samples of upgraded РTAB-2.5 weighing 3.2 kg, PTAB-2.5 MB1 with enhanced fragmentation effect (with formed fragments) and PTAB-2.5 MB2 (with preformed fragments). The enterprise is currently working on the creation of AO-1 and AO-2 light fragmentation bombs weighing 1 and 2 kg, respectively, based on the RG-42 grenades. The team of RPUE also is considering the technical capabilities to develop a light guided gliding bomb UPAB-05 weighing up to 6 kg.
The produced aircraft armament based on standard warheads from MLRS Grad rockets, mortar bombs, RPG grenades, combat elements from cluster bombs and other appropriate to technical customer’s requirements equal size products can be adapted to the performance characteristics and tactics of using a particular drone. First of all, this applies to small free-fall (gravitational) bombs. The small bomb can be used on various UAVs of both aircraft and multi-rotor types.
In the near future, it is planned to demonstrate the combat capabilities of domestic strike UAVs equipped with our aircraft armament at the training grounds of the Armed Forces.
The team of RPUE intends to development and produce other unguided aircraft weapon, as well as guided one for domestic strike drones. Some of them will be presented at the enterprise’s exposition at the MILEX 2021 military exhibition.
