NIIEVM JSC Jointly with NPK Positron LLC Develops VM2016 PC

The NIIEVM Computer Research Institute JSC jointly with the NPK Positron Research and Production Centre LLC (St. Petersburg) are developing the new VM2016 personal computer based on the Elbrus-4S quad-core high-performance multi-purpose Russian CPU. 
The new product is basically a full-function 17'' LCD laptop. The VM2016 is designed to protect information processing systems from unauthorised access and prevent them from information leaks caused by electromagnetic radiation and interference.
The PC can be operated in severe weather conditions and withstand rapid temperature changes from –40 to 50C. In addition, the laptop case from aluminum alloy protects the PC from mechanical and climatic impact and allows installing it outdoors and indoors; in vehicles on wheeled and tracked chassis, in rail transport, as well as at stationary and mobile coast- and sea-based facilities. 
Currently, the VМ2016 is being tested at the customer’s request. The launch of serial production is scheduled for H2 2018.
