MZKT Is Best Exporter 2015

The results of the Best Exporter 2015 competition were summed up in April. The competition was held among national exporters of goods (works, services) of own production in the framework of the State Small and Medium Business Support Programme for 2013-2015.
After the qualifying round, Goscomvoyenprom submitted two companies to the competition: the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant (MZKT) in the Mechanical Engineering and Metalworking category and the 558th Aircraft Repair Plant in the Services category.
Sectoral ministries, state committees, concerns, regional (Minsk City) executive committees, business associations and Hi-Tech Park Administration submitted a total of 121 companies to the final stage of the competition, which is 17% more than last year.
On 5 May 2016, the Palace of the Republic hosted an award ceremony of the Best Exporter 2015 national competition. Winners were decided in 20 categories solely on the basis of official statistics.
MZKT, which got a score as close as possible to the winner BELAZ (Minsk region) and showed good results in export of goods and services, was awarded a certificate of appreciation in the Mechanical Engineering and Metalworking category.
In 2015, MZKT’s exports totalled nearly $143 million, export growth rate reached almost 84.8%, and balance of trade in goods was in surplus and amounted to $93.14 million. Export ratio reached 87.6%. Exports per employee amounted to $27 thousand.
To date, MZKT supplies its products to 20 countries, including Russia, the UAE, Turkey, China, Venezuela and Egypt.
The main differences of MZKT’s products from competitors are the maximum compliance with the needs of a particular customer, high reliability and maintainability, as well as ability to operate under the most difficult climatic conditions. The Volat vehicles are reliable both in the Russia’s far north and in the Middle East deserts, as well as in other regions of the world. MZKT produces two to seven new types of products annually.
In addition, components that are unique for the CIS countries, such as automatic transmissions, hydropneumatic and independent spring suspensions, winches and other products are manufactured in production shops.
The 558th Aircraft Repair Plant took third place in the Services category.
Goscomvoyenprom companies traditionally participate in the Best Exporter of the Year national competition and have always become winners in recent years. ATOMTEX became the winner in the Electronics and Instrument Engineering category in 2009, 2011 and 2012; the Display design bureau won in 2013. In 2014, MZKT became the winner of the Best Exporter 2014 national competition, taking third place in the Mechanical Engineering and Metalworking category.
