Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant: Prize Winner at the Best Exporter 2014 Contest

On 14 May, at the Victoria business-centre in Minsk, the results of the Best Exporter 2014 national contest were summed up. It is held under the State Program of Small and Medium Business Support in Belarus for 2013-2015 and involves Belarusian companies, exporters of products (services) of own production.

In the final round of the contest, there were all in all 100 companies. These are different sector ministries, state committees, concerns, regional (Minsk) executive committees, the Public Institution 'Administration of the High Technology Park'.

Goscomvoyenprom held an elimination round of the contest and presented four companies, Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant, the Display design bureau, AGAT – Control Systems JSC, management company of Geoinformation Control Systems Holding, and the 558th Aircraft Repair Plant.

After the analysis of statistical data, Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant took the third place in the 'Metal-Fabricating Industries' nomination, thus becoming a prize winner of the contest.

The Display design bureau took the fourth place in the 'Electronics, Instrument Engineering, Electric Engineering and Optical Equipment' nomination. AGAT – Control Systems JSC, management company of Geoinformation Control Systems Holding, included in the Goscomvoyenprom system, became the fifth.

In the 'Services' nomination, the 558th Aircraft Repair Plant was ranked the 6th.

"Our winners exported products and services amounting to $ 2,2 billion USD, and all the finalists of the contests, 104 companies, provided 10 % of the country`s export amount. These are leading companies, each in its own branch," said Mikhail Myatlikov, chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Participation of the Goscomvoyenprom companies in the Best Exporter of the Year contest is like a tradition, and for several recent years these companies have been the winners. Thus, in 2009, 2011 and 2012, the winner in the 'Electronics and Instrument Engineering' nomination was the ATOMTEX daughter company of Minsk Scientific and Research Instrument-Making Institute. And in 2013, the first place was taken by the Display design bureau.

Best Exporter of the Year is a co-project of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the concerned public authorities, regional executive committees, the Minsk Executive Committee, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Public Institution 'Administration of the High Technology Park', and a number of public organizations.
