MINSK RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF RADIOMATERIALS Awarded Third Place in the National Innovation Projects Competition 2018 for Productionising the Irma Plus New-Generation Glucose Meter
On 26 December, the conference hall of Science and Technology Park of BNTU “Polytechnic” hosted a ceremony of awarding the winners of the 9th National Innovation Projects Competition 2018. The competition was held by the State Committee on Science and Technology with the participation of the Ministry of Education, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM) and other interested organisations.
In 2018, a total of 151 entries were selected and approved to take part in the competition, of which 60 in the Best Innovation Project nomination.
Among the 12 competition winners is MINSK RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF RADIOMATERIALS JSC, a Goscomvoyenprom company.
In the Best Innovation Project nomination, the research institute was awarded third place for organising the production of a socially important product – the Irma Plus new-generation talking blood glucose meter for people with diabetes.
Prototypes have been designed and manufactured. It is planned to conduct state registration and organise mass production of the Irma Plus glucose meters and sensors for them for monitoring blood sugar levels by the use of a highly informative liquid crystal display, a microcontroller with advanced functions, and a memory chip.
