Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant Ships a Batch of MZKT-742960 Tank Transporter
In the first ten days of October, MWTP JSC shipped for further delivery to a foreign customer a batch of MZKT-742960 (8 x 8) two-link tank transporters. The vehicle is designed to work as part of the MZKT-820400 semi-trailer with a total weight of up to 130,000 kg. With a carrying capacity of 56 tonnes, the tank transporter is designed for the transportation of bulky, heavy cargo (a tank or two infantry fighting vehicles) over rough terrain and off-road.
The vehicle is equipped with a 544-horsepower 8-cylinder Deutz BF 8M1015C engine with 2.300 Nm of torque and an Allison 4500 automatic transmission.
The double frame-metal cabin produced by VOLAT (with the possibility of armouring) is designed to carry six crew members and equipped with weapon mounts. Some elements of the power unit and a winch are located behind the cabin.
The chassis front axles are equipped with an independent suspension based on torsion bars, the rear axles are equipped with a spring-balanced suspension based on a pair of levers.
The drum brake mechanisms of the shoe type with pneumohydraulic control are installed on the tank transporters. The vehicle has a spare, parking and auxiliary braking systems.
The tractor uses single wheels with wide-profile tires with a high-traction tread. Traditionally for Minsk tractors, the wheels are equipped with a tyre pressure control system.
Despite its solid dimensions (the length of the product is 10.3 m, the width is 3.5 m, the length of the semi-trailer is 18.4 m) and its weight, the tractor can be transported by military transport aircraft.
