Meeting of The Radio Navigation Interstate Council Helds in Minsk

On 13 August 2020, AGAT – Control Systems JSC – Managing Company of Geoinformation Control Systems Holding, which is a national network operator in the field of navigation, in the video format, hosted a meeting of national state customers of CIS Interstate Radio Navigation Programme (IRNP-2020) for the period up to the current year, as well as the 54th meeting of the Radio Navigation Interstate Council.

The meeting was attended by members of the Interstate Council and authorised representatives from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, as well as a representative of the CIS Executive Committee. SAMI was represented by Vladimir Tsalko, the authorised representative of Belarus in the Interstate Council. The representatives of the executing organisations of the IRNP-2020 also took part in the event.

The report on the implementation of IRNP-2020 in the past year, prepared by the customer-coordinator together with national government customers, was approved, the course of implementation of IRNP-2020 measures was planned, meanwhile all the proposals of the representatives of Belarus were taken into account (it was noted that four tasks of IRNP-2020 are currently being performed). This report is scheduled for consideration by the supreme bodies of the CIS.

The procedure for interaction between the countries participating in IRNP-2020 in the course of work was determined, proposals for the draft list of activities of the new Interstate Radio Navigation Programme of the CIS member states until 2025 were considered.

In addition, the progress in preparing the records for the upcoming meeting of the Commission on Economic Affairs under the CIS Economic Council, the upcoming 29th session of the FERNS Council, as well as the problems caused by COVID-19 were considered.

There were also discussed the areas of cooperation with foreign organisations, including the field of testing, certification and licensed production of navigation equipment.

The Interstate Council entrusted STC Internavigatsia JSC, by the end of the year, to prepare generalised proposals for a draft new programme in the field of radio navigation based on proposals from the CIS member states.

The next meeting of the national state customers of the CIS member countries IRNP-2020 and the 55th meeting of the Radio Navigation Interstate Council will be held in Moscow in November 2020.
