Kazakhstan’s Border Patrol Ship Equipped with Belarusian Weapons

The Zenit Uralsk Plant, which is part of NC Kazakhstan Engineering, launched a border patrol ship 2nd rank called Sarbaz fitted with the Bars-class sonar (Project 22180, in the national classification Project 300) in Uralsk on 29 April.
Sarbaz is the twenty fourth ship built by the plant. The ship is designed for the State Border Service of Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee (KNB) to protect maritime borders in the Caspian Sea.
Compared to four previous ships in the project, Sarbaz has a more powerful and advanced artillery system. The ship is fitted with signals intelligence systems, remotely-guided weapon station manufactured by the Display design bureau, which significantly extends the range of tasks accomplished by the ship. In addition, Sarbaz is equipped with systems for detecting underwater sabotage threats and combating them.
The marine variant of the ADUNOK automated remotely-guided surveillance/firing system is designed for applications in marine environments and used for surveillance and weapons control on a ship. There is a possibility to install several systems both at the bow and stern with a control unit in a wheelhouse. One control unit can control four ADUNOK systems.
Kazakh customers have already evaluated the capabilities of the Belarusian-made remotely-guided weapon system. In June 2014, the Project 0210 Aybar high-speed patrol boat called Karagandy, which was built for the State Border Service of Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee, was equipped with the ADUNOK system with a 12.7-mm machine gun.
After the launching, Sarbaz will sail the Ural River to the Caspian Sea. Then the ship will undergo dock, sea and acceptance trials and will be delivered to the customer.
