Hanoi Hosts the 16th Meeting of Mixed Vietnam-Belarus Intergovernmental Commission for Military-Technical Cooperation

On October 18, 2017, the 16th meeting of the mixed Vietnam-Belarus Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) for Military-Technical Cooperation was held at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Defence Ministry.
Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, Vietnamese Deputy Defence Minister, and Igor Demidenko, First Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian State Military Industrial Committee, heading the Vietnamese and Belarusian parties in IGC, expressed satisfaction with the implementation of agreements reached at the 15th meeting of the Commission held in Minsk in September last year.
During the meeting, the parties highlighted the importance of military-technical cooperation between the two countries and confirmed their interest in its further development. In addition, the parties noted the availability of potential for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation on a number of promising projects.
The meeting also focused on the assessment of practical implementation of current joint projects, approval of a military-technical cooperation plan for 2018 and consideration of issues related to the implementation of the previously approved strategy of Vietnam-Belarus military-technical cooperation for 2016-2020.
The meeting of IGC resulted in the signing of a protocol, which specifies promising projects of mutually beneficial cooperation and order of further cooperation.
