Gosсomvoyenprom Chairman Holds Meeting on Organisation of MILEX-2017 International Military Exhibition

A working meeting on organisation of the 8th international military exhibition MILEX-2017 chaired by Chairman of Gosсomvoyenprom Sergei Gurulev was held in Gosсomvoyenprom on 18 March. The meeting was attended by deputy chairmen of Goscomvoyenprom and heads of exporting companies.
The participants discussed options for locations and dates of the international military exhibition, considered a draft concept of the MILEX-2017 and made suggestions for its improvement (if necessary), as well as developed a concerted effort to increase the efficiency of activities on preparation for the exhibition. They also discussed problematic issues and outlined ways to solve them.
To ensure proper preparation and running of the arms show, Goscomvoyenprom has set up a working group headed by First Deputy Chairman of Goscomvoyenprom Igor Bykov, who will provide general management and coordination of all relevant activities.
Goscomvoyenprom has already worked out a plan of activities and is currently preparing documents that will form the basis for the government’s decision to hold the international military exhibition.
Belspetsvneshtechnika is a general sponsor of the MILEX-2017 exhibition.
According to Sergei Gurulev, key focus areas of the exhibition should reflect the current trends in international arms markets and capabilities of Belarusian defence industry, as well as motivate the development of certain areas in Goscomvoyenprom and defence sector. It is a specific requirement that exhibitors showcase fundamentally new products (new and promising examples of weapons and military and special equipment).
“The exhibition aims to demonstrate the intellectual and industrial potential of the Belarusian defence sector and serve as a unique platform for dialogue, constructive discussion of plans and prospects for military-technical cooperation, suggestion of interesting ideas on implementation of joint projects and on sci-tech, research and production and inter-sectoral cooperation,” said Sergei Gurulev.
Following the meeting, an assignment protocol has been worked out. Work on preparation of the final concept of the MILEX-2017 exhibition has been completed.
