Goscomvoyenprom Holds Seminar on Basic Principles of Diplomatic Relations

On 22 April, AGAT-Control Systems, management company of the Geoinformation Control Systems Holding hosted a training seminar on how to prepare for and conduct negotiations with foreign partners. The seminar was led by Deputy Chairman of Goscomvoyenprom Dmitry Pantus and attended by Goscomvoyenprom officials, heads of Goscomvoyenprom companies, their deputies for commercial (foreign trade) activities, heads of directorates (departments) responsible for military-technical cooperation (foreign trade activities).
The seminar focused on fundamental principles of diplomatic relations, issues related to the study of peculiarities of mentality and national traditions of the Middle Eastern, Southeast Asian and African countries, methods of preparing for and conducting negotiations with foreign partners, and organisation of delegation reception.
Lecturers with vast diplomatic experience spoke at the seminar. They shared their knowledge and practical experience in the field of learning the science of negotiation with foreign partners, finding common ground in a negotiation process as well as wise use of accumulated knowledge about the peculiarities of some states for effective foreign economic activity in the interests of military-technical cooperation in the context of growing international competition in goods and services markets.
Reports and video presentations were made by representatives of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Andrei Luchenok, deputy head of Africa and Middle East Department; Roman Kozyr, adviser at Africa Section; Dmitry Sudas, senior adviser at Southeast Asia Section; and Nikolai Semiletnikov, senior lecturer at the International Relations Department, the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the Belarus President.
Following the seminar, the Goscomvoyenprom Military-Technical Cooperation Department produced a guideline on how to prepare for and conduct negotiations with foreign partners.
