Gennady Smolsky Was Appointed Deputy Chairman of Goscomvoyenprom

Gennady Smolsky Was Appointed Deputy Chairman of Goscomvoyenprom President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a relevant decree on 13 June. Before the new appointment since 2010 Gennady Smolsky had been a head of the export control and licensing department at Goscomvoyenprom.
On 14 June, Chairman of Goscomvoyenprom Sergei Gurulev, representing the newly appointed deputy to the management and employees of the central office, noted professional and leadership skills of Gennady Smolsky and wished him success in his new position on the implementation and improvement of the state policy in the sphere of military-technical cooperation of Belarus with foreign countries, export control and licensing, as well as development of export of defence companies.
Gennady Smolsky was born on 27 June 1964 in Borisov, Minsk Region.
In 1981, he started his working career at the Transistor plant of Integral in Minsk. He did his conscription in the border-security forces of State Security Committee of the USSR, and since 1983 he continued working at the Avtogidrousilitel plant in Borisov.
In 1990, Gennady graduated from the Higher School of the KGB in Moscow. In 1999 he graduated from the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
In 1990-2004, Gennady Smolsky occupied the positions in the KGB of the Soviet Union and Belarus.
After leaving military service since 2004 he has been working at the Goscomvoyenprom, heading the export control and licensing department.
He is married and has a daughter and a son.
