First Exhibition in Promising Region
From 11 to 13 September, Baku is to host the ADEX 2014 International Defence Industry Exhibition, organised and supported by the Ministry of Defence Industry and Defence Ministry of Azerbaijan. The first exhibition is likely to be one of the largest arms shows in the Caspian region. More than 170 companies from 33 countries confirmed their participation in ADEX 2014. Azerbaijan, Turkey, Belarus, South Korea, Poland, Israel, Ukraine and Russia will have national pavilions.
Numerous bilateral meetings and talks with officials from branch ministries, manufacturers and contractors will be held at the exhibition. Modern Warfare Methods and Security Issues conference will be the centrepiece of the forum’s business programme. The delegation of the Belarusian Military and Industrial Committee headed by First Deputy Chairman Igor Bykov will visit the exhibition.
The Belarusian exposition will be arranged by Belspetsvneshtechnika. The company will provide the information about its advanced surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems, optical-electronic equipment, C4ISRs and simulators. Besides Belspetsvneshtechnika, eleven Belarusian companies will showcase their products on the area of 168 square meters. They are the 558th Aircraft Repair Plant, Measuring Technologies, Tora, AGAT-SYSTEM JSC, management company of the Communication and Control Systems Holding, the 2566th Radioelectronic Armament Repair Plant, the 140th Repair Plant, Display, Midivisana, Virtual Technologies, BelOMO and Diamond aviation training centre.
The Belarusian exposition will include radio stations, power amplifiers, field telephones, Ethernet network switches, optical sights, surveillance systems, laser target designators, grenade launcher simulators, the ADUNOK automated remotely-guided surveillance/firing system, the Vector-Mst calibration equipment, models of upgraded military vehicles from the Osa SAM system and the Tunguska anti-aircraft gun-missile system, as well as launchers and target illumination radar from the S-300P SAM system.
AGAT – Control Systems JSC, management company of the Geoinformation Control Systems Holding that will have a separate stand is worth special mentioning, The company will exhibit the cutting-edge C4ISR solutions for air defence, signals intelligence and electronic warfare units and air force. The highlight of the show will be the Soldier – Combat Systems kit, a Belarusian variant of the similar combat kits developed by the world’s leading countries. The kit is integrated into the tactical C4ISR. All the components of the soldier system except for small arms are Belarusian-made.
Several more Belarusian defence companies will demonstrate their products at separate stands. They are Minotor-Service, Defense Initiatives and SKB TSP. They will showcase models of various military equipment including those of the Moskit personnel tracked vehicle, the ZSU-23-4 Shilka, the upgraded BTR-50, the Talisman airborne defence system for combat aircraft, the Amulet airborne defence system for helicopters, the Mirazh defence system for protection of objects, the range research system based on the MiG-29’s radar sighting system, the Aura missile approach warning system and the PKR anti-ship missile defence system, as well as provide information about their R&D works, design, development, production, improvement, repair and maintenance of military equipment.
