First Batch of MZKT-500200 Chassis Delivered to Customer

On 27 February 2015, the Neman automative assembly plant, a branch of MZKT, delivered the first batch of serially produced MZKT-500200 wheeled chassis to the Belarusian State Border Committee. Nine vehicles were transported to the city of Dzerzhinsk for operational testing. Later, the MZKT-500200 chassis will be assigned to the Belarusian border outposts.

The chassis are assembled at Lida-based automotive assembly plant Neman (former Lida Buses Neman company), which became a branch of MZKT in April 2014. Most of the components for the vehicles are manufactured at the main plant in Minsk, and the Lida-based plant manufactures frames, flat truck bodies and cabs.

The MZKT-500200 two-axle all-wheel drive (4x4) vehicle with a load capacity of three tonnes was developed within the framework of the R&D project to make a road-size cross-country military chassis with independent suspension, dubbed Zastava-MZKT. At the end of May 2014 the system successfully passed all state tests.

The vehicle is designed to promptly deliver personnel (up to 21 people) and cargoes with a total weight of three tonnes across any types of roads and terrain.
