Cuba and Belarus Confirm Mutual Interest in Intensification of Military-Technical Cooperation

From 16 to 17 November 2017, the 6th meeting of the Joint Belarus-Cuba Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as the Commission) took place in Havana, Cuba. The event was attended by the representatives of the Belarusian defence industry.
The Belarusian part of the Commission was headed by Igor Demidenko, First Deputy Chairman of Goscomvoyenprom; the Cuban delegation was led by Brigadier General Tomas Valdes Hernandez, Commander of the Cuban Revolutionary Air and Air Defence Force.
At the Commission meeting, the parties analysed the results of the implementation of agreements reached at the previous meeting, as well as discussed promising cooperation projects. In addition, the Belarusian delegation visited a number of Cuban defence enterprises.
The parties confirmed their interest in the further intensification of mutually beneficial military-technical cooperation between Belarus and Cuba. The 7th meeting of the Commission will take place in the fourth quarter of 2018 in Minsk.
