Cooperation of the Belarusian Defence Companies with CSTO partners is analysed at INTERPOLITEX 2019
From 22 to 25 October, the Russian Federation Ministry of Internal Affairs, Federal Security Service of Russia and Federal National Guard Troops Service (Rosgvardia) organised the 23rd International Exhibition of Means of State Security Provision INTERPOLITEX 2019 in Moscow.
It was attended by more than 370 Russian and foreign companies. Belarus was represented by three organisations of different departmental subordination and form of ownership, such as Peleng JSC, Polimaster LLC and republican unitary enterprise Scientific and Production Centre of Multifunctional Unmanned Systems of the Belarusian National Academy of Sciences. They demonstrated the latest developments in the field of multifunctional unmanned aerial systems and their components, as well as the manufacture of high-tech optical-mechanical and optronic products for widespread use.
About fifty foreign delegations and over twenty thousand security experts from 67 countries visited INTERPOLITEX 2019. The guests were interested in the products equipped with artificial intelligence.
As part of the business programme of the exhibition, the 1st international military-economic conference was held. Its participants discussed development trends, problems and prospects of military-economic cooperation of the CSTO member states. CSTO Acting Secretary General Valery Semerikov started the forum. Opening speech was made by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Interstate Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as the Commission) Yury Borisov. Acting Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Sergei Pospelov greeted the participants.
The conference was attended by plenipotentiaries of the CSTO member states, representatives of the leadership and members of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, leaders and members of the national parts of the Commission, the Business Council under the Commission, representatives of the leadership of interested ministries and departments, heads and specialists of leading research and production associations, enterprises and defence organisations of the CSTO member states.
Deputy Chairman of State Authority for Military Industry Dmitry Pantus took part at the conference and made a report on the problems of cooperation between the Belarusian defence companies with the CSTO partners. He expanded on the experience of developing mutually beneficial cooperative ties, revealed current issues in their implementation and outlined the promising areas of military-economic cooperation in the CSTO format.
According to the results of the conference, it is planned to publish a collection of materials, which will include presentations by all participants. In the time following, the collection is intended to be sent to the national parts of the Commission to use the results of the exchange of views in practical work by participants in military-economic cooperation — from interested ministries and departments to heads of defence enterprises and organisations of the CSTO member states.
