Control Kits Developed by NIIEVM JSC Were Adopted by the Belarusian Army
NIIEVM JSC has successfully completed state tests of self-propelled artillery gun control kits mounted on 2S1 Gvozdika, 2SZ Akatsiya, 2S5 Giatsint-S self-propelled artillery units, united by special software, integrated into a single automated control system for artillery units. By order of the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Belarus, these developments have been adopted by the Belarusian Army.
The kit includes a computing system based on tablet and portable computers, communications and data transmission systems, navigation and technical support. In an automated mode, the products ensure the receipt of calculated fire mission settings, real-time information exchange between the self-propelled artillery guns and the battery artillery fire control vehicles, notification of each vehicle commander, receipt of feedback information on the fulfilment of assigned tasks and decisions taken, and display of the battery’s combat order on a digital terrain map.
During the state tests, it was practically confirmed that in terms of its technical characteristics the kit is not inferior to the best foreign analogues. The use of the self-propelled artillery gun control kits reduces the time of preparation and execution of a firing mission by 1.5–2 times, increases the accuracy of firing and survivability of the battery.
