Belarusian Volat presents armored truck at Eurosatory 2016
The Belarusian automobile engineering company Volat (OAO Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant or MZKT for short) presented a breadboard model of the lightly armored automobile V-1 during the international defense and security expo Eurosatory 2016 in Villepinte, France. The developers of the armored truck took into account the experience of local armed conflicts of the last few decades. The V-1 design implements promising technical and intellectual solutions to achieve the modern level of tactical and technical parameters. During the expo Volat also intends to demonstrate an 8x8 chassis MZKT 600201. The company's booth also offers a glimpse of the latest multi-purpose highly-unified motorway-capable wheeled chassis and many other products. In turn, the Belarusian defense solutions engineering company ZAO TsNIP showcased the mobile antitank missile system Shershen during Eurosatory 2016. ZAO TsNIP's products have already been demonstrated during Eurosatory in the past. In 2014 the Belarusian company teamed up with the Canadian company Streit Group (the world's leading manufacturer of commercial and military armored vehicles) to present the armored vehicle Warrior, which was fitted with the Belarusian antitank missile system Shershen-D. Eurosatory is believed to be one of the largest and most respected international expos on ground defense and security solutions. This year's expo demonstrates products by some 1,500 companies from 57 countries.
