Belarusian Parliamentarians Ratify Military-Technical Cooperation Agreement with Serbia
A meeting of the House of Representatives of the sixth convocation took place on 13 June 2017. During the meeting, the parliamentarians considered fifteen issues, including eight bills on the ratification of international agreements.
Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian State Military Industrial Committee Gennady Smolsky presented for the consideration of the parliamentarians the draft law “On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on Military-Technical Cooperation”.
The agreement was concluded with a view to developing and strengthening friendly relations between Belarus and Serbia, as well as establishing a legal basis for the Belarusian-Serbian military-technical cooperation.
In accordance with the Agreement, military-technical cooperation is carried out, in particular, in the following areas: joint projects concerning new types of weapons and military equipment; production, modernisation, overhaul and delivery of military equipment, weapons, optical devices, special-purpose equipment; exchange of specialists and training, raising the professional level of military representatives and specialists; other areas upon agreement between the governments of Belarus and Serbia.
