Belarusian Delegation Takes Part in the 3rd Engineering Technologies 2014 International Forum
Representatives of Belarusian defence companies participated in the Engineering Technologies 2014 international forum and Oboronexpo 2014 International Exhibition of Arms, Technologies and Innovations that took place at the Russia transport exhibition centre in Zhukovsky, Moscow Region, from 13 to 17 August, 2014.
During the forum, the Belarusian delegation, headed by the First Deputy Chairman of Goscomvoyenprom Igor Bykov, held various meetings and negotiations, solving the issues of military-technical cooperation and the development of cooperation ties between two countries.
Thus, Igor Bykov met the Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Alexander Potapov. During the meeting, the parties discussed the cooperation issues between two countries, as well as the import substitution of Ukrainian products for the benefit of Russian companies.
The Integration of Russian and Belarusian Defence Companies research/practice conference was the key event of the forum's business part. The event was attended by more than 100 experts, heads and designers of the defence companies from both countries.
It was held Oboronexpo 2014 International Exhibition of Arms, Technologies and Innovations as part of the Engineering Technologies 2014 forum. More than 250 Russian and two Belarusian companies (MZKT and KB Display) under control of Goscomvoyenprom, as well as the Algerian, Armenian, German, Indian, Chinese, American, French, Czech and Swiss companies participated in the event.
The Vitebsk-based KB Display will expose around 40 mock-ups of products: the ADUNOK automated remotely-guided surveillance/firing system, helmet-mounted displays, panel and portable computers and displays for special-purpose computer aids such as videomonitors, display modules and display panels.
At Oboronexpo 2014, MZKT presented two new MZKT-6001 vehicles (4x4 MZKT-5002 and 6x6 MZKT-6001) that were demonstrated at the equipment show. The upgraded MZKT-7930 was also exhibited.
Together with the traditional vehicles for different types of weapons, MZKT demonstrated various units and assemblies:new generation of heavy power units (TMZ+DGP+KP and TMZ+GMP+PK), fifth-wheel assembly, hydromechanical drive and double-drum winch with double planetary gear reducer.
Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies (KRET) presented the project of EW Technology, Russian-Belarusian company. It will deal with improvement, overhaul and maintenance of both countries' EW systems. The founders are Novgorod NPO Kvant, a part of KRET, and AGAT – Control Systems.
United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) is planning to become the 558th Aircraft Repair Plant shareholder.
According to the UAC Executive Vice President Alexander Tulyakov, one of the main tasks is to increase the company's capacity. He said, “We are planning to develop the production of aircraft parts, putting them into mass production in future. As well, we are going to increase aircraft repair.”
The participation of the Goscomvoyenprom companies and Belarusian defence companies in the forum plays a significant role in the Belarusian-Russian cooperation.
