Belarus to present cutting-edge military hardware in UAE

Belarus will present cutting-edge defense products during the 13th international armaments and military hardware expo IDEX 2017 that will take place in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates on 19-23 February. The International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) is one of the largest defense industry expos in the world and the region. Over 1,200 companies from 56 countries intend to take part in this year's expo. Chairman of the State Defense Industries Committee Sergei Gurulev will lead the Belarusian delegation during the expo. Sergei Gurulev intends to meet with top officers of the UAE army as well as heads of companies from a number of countries to discuss the implementation of current and future projects in the area of military and technical cooperation. During the expo the Belarusian booth will feature the latest defense technologies and capabilities of the Belarusian defense industry. In particular, Belarusian defense contractors intend to showcase unmanned aerial vehicle systems, high-tech anti-armor weapons, the latest radiolocation and radio warfare solutions, mobility means for various weapon systems as well as solutions for upgrading armored vehicles and air defense missile systems. Belarusian companies will also demonstrate a wide range of innovative products based on the latest information and telecommunication technologies. The choice will include a radio warfare station, which is designed to combat aerial drones, and an all-around looking radar, which can track aerial targets that rely on stealth technology. Participation in IDEX 2017 represents an important step in Belarus-UAE military and technical cooperation. Apart from that, it is an excellent opportunity to showcase the R&D potential of Belarus' top defense contractors, expand the number of partners, and assess competition in the region for the sake of marketing efforts later on.
