Belarus President Presents State Awards to Employees of Research and Production Companies

“Today we are giving awards to those who protect the borders of the Homeland, take care of people’s health and make a significant contribution to the economic security of the country,” said Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko at the awards ceremony.
The President also noted that presenting state awards is a landmark event, a sign of profound respect to the achievements of awardees and an evidence of the high level of professional knowledge and management competence of each of those present at the ceremony.
Our country and our people highly appreciate the work of Belarusian engineers and their contribution to the country’s defence capacity and security. They once again confirm the thesis that people’s work, initiative and responsible attitude do not go unnoticed.
The research and production sector of the economy was represented by heads and employees of the State Military Industrial Committee and a number of companies. Among them were VOLATAVTO, Precision Electromechanics Plant, Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant, AGAT-Control Systems and AGAT-SYSTEM.
The President drew attention to the fact that the distinguishing feature of these companies is the introduction of their products and development of new industries. According to the President, achievements of Belarusian engineers have been known and recognised in the world since the Soviet times.
“It is gratifying to see that the traditions of our outstanding scientists continue to develop,” said Alexander Lukashenko.
Addressing the awardees, the President spoke on the issue of enhancing the country’s defence capacity.
“The key priority is to protect our country. We do not want anything extra. We want our children to live in peace in our relatively small country. We want them to live in the safe country in which we live. And we want them to be a bit richer than us. But it depends not only on the state but also on all of us,” said the President. “So let’s live in peace and work. If someone wants to create something great, we will help. But if someone wants to work in a team, there are all conditions for that,” the President added.
