Belarus doubles defense technology export over five years

Over the last five years Belarus doubled the export of defense technology products, BelTA learned from Sergei Gurulev, Chairman of the State Defense Industries Committee of Belarus. “Over the course of five years we increased the export volume by exactly two times. Last year's export was close to $1 billion. I think it is quite a serious figure for Belarus,” said Sergei Gurulev. The accomplishment is attributed to the constantly expanding market. “We already work with 52 countries. We work with 32 countries at the legislative level in the area of military and technical cooperation. We are represented well in the CIS, Southeast Asia, South America, Europe, and Africa. We have already reached Australia and the Philippines. We enjoy good relations with Indonesia and Malaysia,” said the official. According to Sergei Gurulev, it is important to use an integrated approach in working with foreign customers. “It is now important to offer complete solutions instead of individual parts. There are a number of countries where we offer complete solutions,” said the chairman of the committee in charge of managing Belarusian defense enterprises.
