Belarus, China Discuss Prospects for Military-Technical Cooperation

A representative Chinese military delegation visited Belarus on 17-22 May. The delegation was led by Gen. Zhang Youxia, member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of China’s Communist Party, member of China’s Central Military Commission, Director of the Equipment Development Department of China’s Central Military Commission.
On 19 May, Chairman of the Belarusian State Military Industrial Committee (Goscomvoyenprom) Sergei Gurulev met with the head of the Chinese military delegation.
The parties noted that bilateral cooperation in the military-technical sphere is one of the important indicators of comprehensive strategic relations between the countries.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the military-technical sphere, in particular, a gradual transition from deliveries of finished products to joint research and development projects, joint development and production of advanced high-technology weapons and military equipment.
During the visit, the Chinese military delegation took part in the eighth international military exhibition MILEX-2017 where they familiarised themselves with the achievements and new products of the Goscomvoyenprom organisations and Belarusian defence companies.
