Belarus and Uzbekistan Agree on Security Cooperation

The Uzbek delegation headed by Viktor Makhmudov, secretary of the Security Council under the President of Uzbekistan, visited Belarus in July. The delegation included heads of Uzbekistan’s national security bodies.

State Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Stanislav Zas held talks with the head of the Uzbek delegation.

Within the framework of the visit, bilateral consultations were held between the representatives of the security councils with the participation of the leadership of a number of security agencies. The parties discussed cooperation in the military, military-technical and law-enforcement spheres, joint efforts in the field of emergency prevention and recovery, interaction between customs authorities.

In addition, meetings took place between the leaders of national security agencies of the two countries. The delegation members familiarised themselves with the activities of military educational and scientific institutions, Goscomvoyenprom organisations and defence companies.

During the visit, members of the Uzbek delegation got acquainted with the capabilities of defence companies to develop and manufacture robotic systems, optoelectronic products and C4ISR systems and to repair and modernise aircraft equipment and air defence systems, as well as with the capabilities of a number of modern and advanced military products in these areas.
