Belarus and Turkey Determine Next Steps to Develop Military-Technical Cooperation
The 8th meeting of the Joint Belarus-Turkey Committee was held from 23 to 26 October. Its agenda was the implementation of an agreement on cooperation in the defence industry sphere between the two countries.
The Belarusian side was headed by Dmitry Pantus, Deputy Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee, while the Turkish side was led by Köksal Liman, Deputy Undersecretary for Defence Industries of the Ministry of National Defence. At the meeting, representatives of the two countries discussed the results of the implementation of the agreements signed in October 2015 in Turkey during the 7th meeting.
Moreover, within the framework of the meeting, the Turkish delegation visited several Belarusian defence companies. During the meeting, Turkish Deputy Defence Minister Şuay Alpay held talks with Oleg Dvigalev, Chairman of the Belarusian State Military Industrial Committee, and Major General Sergei Simonenko, Deputy Defence Minister of Belarus. During the talks, the parties exchanged their opinions on results and prospects of the implementation of joint military-technical projects.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their satisfaction with the achievements of bilateral cooperation and determined further steps for its development.
