Belarus and Algeria Strengthen Military-Technical Cooperation
On 2–3 December 2025, Dmitry Pantus, Minister of the State Authority for Military Industry (SAMI), took part in the official visit of Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus, to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria as part of the state delegation.
The visit was productive, with numerous meetings and negotiations held. The key outcomes included a meeting between the head of the Belarusian arms agency and the Chief of the General Staff of the Algerian National People’s Army, General Saïd Chanegriha, as well as the signing of an agreement on military-technical cooperation between the governments of the two countries in the presence of their heads of state.
A joint Intergovernmental Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation will be established in the near future in order to identify the most promising areas and discuss specific mutually beneficial bilateral projects.
Algeria is one of Belarus’ most important regional partners in the military-technical sphere. The visit laid the regulatory and legal foundation for cooperation between the two countries and provided an opportunity to discuss promising projects aimed at strengthening the defence capabilities of both states.
