Astana Hosts Eighth Kazakhstan–Belarus Military-Technical Cooperation Sub-Commission Meeting

On 14 September, the 8th meeting of the Military-Technical Cooperation Sub-Commission of the Intergovernmental Kazakhstan–Belarus Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as the Sub-Commission) was held in Astana under the chairmanship of Kazakhstan’s Deputy Defence Minister Talgat Zhanzhumenov.
The Belarusian part of the Sub-Commission was headed by Dmitry Pantus, Deputy Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee.
During the Sub-Commission meeting, the parties confirmed mutual interest in the further development of military-technical cooperation between Belarus and Kazakhstan in areas of mutual interest, noted the potential for expanding cooperation on a number of promising projects, analysed the results of implementing the agreements reached in the previous meeting, and also discussed promising areas for further cooperation, including the development of defence companies of the parties.
The leaders of the Belarusian and Kazakh parts of the Sub-Commission signed a protocol, which fixed the decisions and intentions.
The Sub-Commission meeting was attended by members of the Belarusian and Kazakh parts of the Sub-Commission, representatives of ministries, agencies and defence companies of the two countries.
Within the framework of the meeting programme, the Belarusian delegation members familiarised themselves with the production capacities of defence companies Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering LLP and Kazakhstan Aselsan Engineering LLP.
