9P140MB Uragan-MB Multiple Launch Rocket System Confirmed Its Declared Characteristics
On 30 March 2022, the State Authority for Military Industry of the Republic of Belarus together with the Defence Ministry conducted the final stage of state tests of the 9P140MB Uragan-MB multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) at the Osipovichsky firing range. These tests summarised the painstaking work of engineers and designers of one of SAMI companies to modernise the Soviet-made Uragan MLRS.
The programme for the final stage of the state tests included comparison of characteristics of the combat vehicles based on firing results of two units – the Soviet model currently in service of the Belarusian Army and the upgraded domestic model. At the same time, it should be noted that both vehicles were loaded from a new Belarusian-made transloader.
The results of the state tests confirmed the declared characteristics and the capability of the upgraded transloader to load the regular combat vehicle.
“As expected, everything went smoothly,” the company said. “Soon we will submit the final test acts to the acceptance committee, and then a decision will be made whether to supply the upgraded vehicle to the Defence Ministry. In the event of success, all standard Uragan vehicles will be upgraded to the Uragan-MB level.
