9A33-1B Combat Vehicle Prototype Completes Acceptance Testing

In accordance with an action plan of the research and development project named Upgrade of the 9A33BM2(3) Combat Vehicle to the 9A33-1B Level, acceptance testing of a prototype example of the 9A33-1B combat vehicle was held at the 2566th ZRREV and 174th Air Force and Air Defence training range from 9 to 23 December 2015. The tests were conducted to determine if the prototype example meets the requirements of technical specifications and if the developed documentation is ready for carrying out a serial upgrade of the 9A33BM2(3) combat vehicles.
During the field tests with the launches of surface-to-air missiles, it was defined that commands generated and transmitted to the missiles ensure steady missile guidance and target destruction.
In addition, the tests demonstrated that the prototype example of the 9A33-1B combat vehicle meets technical specifications and the design documentation makes it possible to conduct a serial upgrade of the 9A33BM2 and 9A33BM3 combat vehicles.
