558 Aircraft Repair Plant Receives Military Relics
On the eve of the 75th anniversary marking the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, Baranovichi-based 558 Aircraft Repair Plant JSC hosted a ceremony of handing over to the company of the Colours, a duplicate of the Order of the Red Star and the order card, as well as a copy of a certificate from the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, which were kept in the Russian Central Armed Forces Museum.
The ceremony of handing over the Colours was attended by First Deputy Minister of State Authority for Military Industry Igor Demidenko, Chairman of the Baranovichi City Executive Committee Yury Gromakovsky, Member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Olga Politiko from the Belarusian side, and Commander of the Western Military District Hero of the Russian Federation Col. Gen. Alexander Zhuravlev, Military Commandant of Moscow Gen. Lt. Yevgeny Selezenev, Director of the Russian Central Armed Forces Museum Alexander Nikonov from the Russian side.
“The aircraft repair plant,” Alexander Zhuravlev said, “has come a long way, survived difficult times, mastered new types of aircraft, and now successfully performs its tasks. And it is pleasant and exciting for me on the eve of the Belarus Independence Day to execute the order of the Russian Defence Minister and hand over to the company the awards that it won on the fields of fierce military battles”.
Olga Politiko, Member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, noted the importance of the return of the military relics on the eve of the Belarus Independence Day.
“For the company’s team, these military awards will always be an example of how to work, love and protect the Homeland,” she said.
Accepting the Colours, the Order of the Red Star and the certificate from the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, director of 558 Aircraft Repair Plant JSC Pavel Pinigin assured that the company would continue the glorious traditions of older generations, adequately perform production tasks, keep the military relics and cherish the memory of victorious warriors.
