140th Repair Plant Enters Markets of Central Asia and Asia-Pacifi c Region
Over the last two months of autumn, the 140 Repair Plant took part in the CAIPS 2015 8th Protection, Security and Fire Safety Central Asian International Exhibition, held from 20 to 22 October in Tashkent (Uzbekistan), in the Asian International Exhibition and Defense and Security 2015 Conference, which were held from 2 to 5 November in Bangkok (Thailand).
The sites of these international specialized exhibitions presented a unique opportunity for plant workers from Borisov to demonstrate the company’s potential and to establish direct contacts with decision-makers in this industry. The sites also allowed to present the company’s developments to the most important consumers in the fi eld of safety, to evaluate the market reaction to their products, and to identify the most important areas for new developments.
The 140th Repair Plant from Borisov is entering the market of Uzbekistan for the fi rst time and suggests to the Uzbek side supply of new models of armoured and special vehicles (their assembly), as well as service and upgrade of the existing military equipment remained from the Soviet Union.
In Uzbekistan, the Belarusian side provided opportunities of the company for overhaul and modernisation of armoured vehicles, for production of rubber products, as well as they provided promising examples of dual-use special equipment. As an example of such equipment, there was a completely new Kaiman wheeled armoured vehicle which can be used by both force military units, special forces of police, and civil services like the Emergencies Ministry and foresters.
In addition, the company off ered to the Uzbek side the GPM-72 tracked fi re vehicle based on the T-72 tanks and Pegas special terrain vehicle (all-terrain vehicle), aimed at companies engaged in geologic exploration.
During the Defense and Security 2015 Exhibition, the delegation of the 140th Repair Plant held several bilateral meetings with representatives of various companies, concerned parties. Also, they marked ways of further military-technical cooperation with companies of Asia-Pacifi c Region.
