In Support of Reconnaissance Units
During mid-August, a tactical and specialised exercise involving units of the Western Operational Command of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus was held in the Grodno Region. The exercise featured the active deployment of the latest domestic development—the Klen short-range reconnaissance radar system, manufactured by JSC ALEVKURP.
The radar system was deployed to support reconnaissance units in detecting ground and air targets of a simulated enemy, including various classes of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Under realistic, combat-simulated conditions, the Klen system confirmed its specified tactical and technical performance capabilities and demonstrated high effectiveness in conducting reconnaissance using novel tactics.
The radar system operated as part of an integrated network alongside electronic warfare, fire support, and air-defence units. This enabled the force to execute a complete operational cycle—from target detection to neutralisation.
The practical deployment of the Klen radar system not only earned high praise from military personnel, but also generated actionable proposals for further enhancing the system in line with the realities of modern combat. These insights will be incorporated by the developers both into the mass production of the current variant and during the research and development phase of the Klen-2.
