Goscomvoyenprom Summarises the Results of International Economic Activity in the First Half of 2018

On 1 August 2018, the board of the State Military Industrial Committee (Goscomvoyenprom) held a meeting to consider the results of international economic activity of Goscomvoyenprom companies in the first half of 2018 and measures aimed at increasing exports.
Igor Demidenko, First Deputy Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee, evaluated the companies’ foreign trade activity, analysed the progress and performance results of one of the highlight figure of companies’ social and economic development – the export of goods and services.
According to Igor Demidenko, international economic activity, ramp-up of exports and entry into new markets of military products are the main tasks in 2018 for all enterprises, primarily for special exporters. The country’s and Goscomvoyenprom’s leaders focus on these tasks.
In the first half of 2018, the legislative and regulatory framework for military-technical cooperation was further developed both in the field of distinguishing international economic activity of special export companies and in the field of military-technical cooperation of the Republic of Belarus with foreign states.
The leaders of the special exporters and Goscomvoyenprom companies visited a number of meetings in the first half of 2018. The participants heard the leaders’ reports, discussed problems in detail and evaluated the companies’ foreign trade activity (a number of intergovernmental regulations on military-technical cooperation development were signed).
Assessing the Goscomvoyenprom companies’ performance in the first half of 2018 and comparing the results with those in the first half of 2017, Igor Demidenko stressed that the international economic activity conducted by the Goscomvoyenprom leaders and companies during this period allowed the companies to achieve certain export figures and to solve tasks and problems effectively.
In the first half of 2018, four intergovernmental commissions for military-technical cooperation with foreign countries were organised. The commissions’ work proved itself as an effective tool for the promotion of Belarusian military products to the partner countries’ markets.
There were joint stands of the State Military Industrial Committee at three international military exhibitions. In addition, the Goscomvoyenprom companies displayed their products at ten military exhibitions. At the same time, foreign sponsors of exhibitions gave positive reviews and highly appreciated the design of expositions.
The following companies are named the best in ramping up and diversifying the export of goods and services in the first half of 2018: among special exporters – SFTUE Belspetsvneshtechnika, among scientific organisations and design bureaus – Peleng JSC, among industrial companies – 558 Aircraft Repair Plant JSC (558 ARP). 558 ARP was recognised as the best Belarusian exporter of the year in the nomination “Services” for the second year in a row.
