Seminar on Topical Issues in Implementation of Design and Technology Data Management System for Defence Companies

On 28 November, the Belarusian State Military Industrial Committee (Goscomvoyenprom) together with IBA Group and with the assistance of the PTC’s Russian office conducted a seminar on topical issues in the implementation of a modern high-tech design and technology data management system for defence companies. The seminar was held at IBA Group in the High-Tech Park. The seminar was attended by the representatives of Goscomvoyenprom, chief engineers, chief technologists, as well as specialists of Goscomvoyenprom companies.
Sergei Akulich, CEO of IBA IT Park, addressed the seminar participants with a welcoming speech. He wished the guests productive work and noted: “The development of the economy and society based on the extensive use of information technologies is defined as one of the strategic directions for the development of Belarus. Today, large-scale IT projects are implemented in state administration bodies.”
According to Sergei Akulich, the use of cutting-edge IT solutions by Goscomvoyenprom companies is a key factor in the competitiveness of their products in the world market, which shortens the development terms of new types of products and improves their quality and reliability.
“Today, the recognised trends of IT development are Cloud, IoT and information security. The practical experience of IBA Group and Goscomvoyenprom companies and the main long-term tasks in the field of product life-cycle management, which are discussed at this seminar, will to some extent concern these trends,” the CEO of IBA IT Park emphasised. “In addition, one of the seminar’s ideas is to consider the possibility of consolidating the experience and efforts of Goscomvoyenprom companies for more rapid and effective digitisation of their design and production activities,” he added.
Despite the fact that 80% of IBA’s business is oriented to the West, the international holding company has been active in Belarus for almost 25 years. It participates in a number of state programmes and is ready to closely cooperate with Belarusian companies to digitally transform their business, including based on the Industry 4.0 concept.
The seminar’s agenda aroused animated discussions, because the raised issues are currently relevant for each company and the defence industry as a whole.
Specialists of the IBA Group’s data processing centre gave the guests a tour of the centre. They got acquainted with engineering and computing infrastructure, as well as assessed the equipment and security level.
